Hey, there!

I’m Ben, and I’m a relative newbie to the world of model railroading.  I’ve always had an appreciation for trains and related infrastructure, but it wasn’t until early 2023 that I got bitten by “the train bug”.

I’ve been working on a small HO scale layout in my basement for the last couple of years and am doing my best to make up for lost time by obsessively learning everything I can about the hobby!

Modeling details:
I (very loosely) model the Illinois Central Railroad in the 1950s/60s
I started with DC but converted to DCC in early 2025
I’ve 3D printed most of the structures on my layout and have designed a few of my own 3D models
I have a background in analog electronics, and create my own lighting control circuits

I love this hobby and am so thankful to all the content creators and other helpful people who share their knowledge and experience!
