Some people's least favourite job. Not mine
Ballasting track is a marmite task. Some people love it, many others hate it. I actually found it not too bad. There are other things I enjoy doing more, and other tasks I absolutely despised compared to it.
I would probably have prepared myself better in hindsight. I needed a lot more than I first thought, and I also needed to use a lot more glue to hold it in place. Once I got the hang of it, I almost enjoyed it.

For me once I get started I find it relaxing and not as bad of a job as some make it out to be.

Ballasting can be quite therapeutic and you can get carried away if you’re not careful..
