3D Printing for Model Railways 3 months ago3DRailroad.com
Has anyone here actually received an order from 3DRailroad.com? I’ve tried repeatedly (foolishly?) to place orders there over the last several months and have yet to receive anything, or even get a response to repeated email queries. Is the site just a (very) elaborate scam?
Alternately, can anyone point me at a good N-scale DeLorean time machine…

3D Printing for Model Railways 6 months agoI 3D printed all three of these buildings for my layout. The two on the left were 3D models I paid for (they’re pretty inexpensive, and most of the money goes to the creators). The one on the right is a custom remix I created of the one on left. 3D Printing for Model Railways 6 months agoReverse headlight for steam locomotive tender
When I converted this steam locomotive to DCC, I designed and printed a reverse headlight to hold a 3mm flat top led. Not SUPER prototypical-looking, but I think it turned out pretty well. If anyone is interested in it, let me know – I’ll upload it to thinginverse and post a link.

3D Printing for Model Railways 7 months agoHere’s a little waiting platform modeled from a Soviet bus stop I thought was cool. It’s in N scale but should re-scale anywhere you want to go. Easy to make on any old FDM printer.
I threw it up on Printables:

3D Printing for Model Railways 7 months agoI’ve designed a couple of 3D-printable models for my HO-scale layout this year, and have put the models up for free to download from Thingiverse. They are models of a modern-style house (patterned after my own home) and a midwest-style corn crib. I’ve gotten good feedback on the design and the ease of printing them, so go grab them if…
