Re-worked this hill yesterday. Removed all the grass tufts, vaccuumed any loose grass pieces left, applied glue (and paint in a few little areas that needed touching up) and then the "Desert Soil" by AK before covering with a glue/water/alcohol mix and adding the grass tufts back.

Painted up a few Kato signals with a paint marker, put some AK Terrains Sandy Desert paint down and the Desert Soil on top of it to hopefully dry w/ the paint, added some more fallen rock and the end result of the original test area with the desert soil.

Bought some different plants (shrubs) for the layout to change up the variety, there's a few in the image of the vegetation. I'm thinking about adding some WS bushes in as well. The other photo is AK Terrains' Desert Soil, it's meant for larger scales but I think sprinkling some in on the layout will add a bit more texture to the sandy areas.… Read more

Sculptamold going in on the next part of the hill. Some 3D printed ice chests arrived today, one will go in next to the shed used for the crews. Think it looks nice.

Latest update… rock castings glued in. I broke one into several pieces to get a better fit. The smaller pieces towards the top will probably get glued in and worked in with hydrocal to better fit the terrain. More sculptamold down as well!
