Walthers CV Codes
Hello all, I recently purchased a Walthers Mainline Amtrak California with ESU Sound and DCC, and I’m new to DCC, looking to learn a bit more about CV Codes and fine tuning the locomotive; I have a Bachmann EMD SD40-2 with DCC that I successfully changed CV’s to slow the acceleration rate, which was more like a slot car than a locomotive .

First Timer
I’m new to the hobby. I’m 55 going on 56. I’ve always loved trains. I have no clue what I’m doing as far as wiring and making sure everything is set up correctly. AHM Tower
Newest eBay find… AHM Interlocking Tower kit. Check it off the ‘to-buy’ list!! I had one of these as a kid in the 70’s. I plan to use it on my HO switching layout. Not sure if I want to board up the windows and model it as ‘abandoned’ or as an active tower. My layout will be early Conrail, 1976-1980, NE Pennsylvania.

Finding a caboose is going to be a challenge as Atlas is the only company to produce…

Started work on the tailings pile. A long way to go but at least looking like something now! Few figures, a bulldozer and dump truck will find there way into the scene eventually.

Coupler Identification Help
Hit the local train shop this week and got a few cars, they are a mix of brands (Atlas, Bachmann, Life Like) but all have a coupler I haven’t seen before. These are rigid knuckle couplers that snap together by pushing the cars together and they release by pulling the cars apart. Can anyone identify them?
I assumed they were MTLs (or…
